Welcome to the University Testing Center (UTC)
The University Testing Center (UTC) is located on the first floor of Howard Phillips Hall in room 106. The center offers a secure and comfortable environment that includes a technologically advanced computer testing lab with 41 testing stations as well as a traditional paper-and-pencil testing facility. Annually, UTC administers over 20,000 standardized examinations.
UTC strives to meet the needs of UCF students, prospective students, alumni, and the greater Orlando metropolitan area by providing a wide-variety of testing services such as the Residual ACT, CLAST (College Level Academic Skills Test) , CLEP (College Level Examination Program) , Florida Teacher Certification Exams (FTCE), Foreign Language Proficiency Exam (FLPE), Law School Admission Test (LSAT), Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT), and many others in order to foster excellence in higher education and create opportunities for success. UTC is also responsible for providing UCF students with information related to components of the CLAST requirement, including: holds, Alternatives, Lower Division Registration Waivers, and Hold Petitions.
UTC has also experienced outstanding success including: being recognized for five consecutive years as being one of the top 100 CLEP test center in the nation administering the most CLEP tests (2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2006-2007, and 2007-2008), recognized as being one of the top 100 institutions receiving the most CLEP Spanish language examination scores (2004-2005), presenting “From Recruiting to Testing: Dev National College Testing Association (NCTA) 2006 conference, presenting "Marketing Plan to Keep Your Test Center on the Track to Success" at the NCTA 2007 conference, and subscribing to the required guidelines in order to be recognized as a participant in the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTC).
