The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is only administered on the computer. CLEP is one option provided by the University as an opportunity to earn college credit. This test is given daily by appointment only.
The total cost for each CLEP exam is $92.00. Registration and payment must be completed in order to schedule an appointment. Payment in person must be made during the available hours of the Cashier’s Office. For Cashier’s Office hours click here.
Before you register for a CLEP exam, check with your academic advisor at your current institution to make sure the CLEP examination you wish to take is appropriate for your needs.
UCF STUDENTS- please note: The University of Central Florida does not award credit for all of the CLEP exams that are provided by the University Testing Center. Test credit is applied according to the published policy at the time the credit is received and posted by the university. CLEP is offered Monday through Friday, and one Saturday each month by appointment only.

Step 1 – Registration Form and Disclaimer
Download and complete the CLEP registration form and CLEP disclaimer. UCF students please note that you need to write your PID at the top of the CLEP registration form once it has been printed.

Two separate payments are required.
The total cost of a CLEP exam is $90.00. A $72 payment, in the form of Check, Money Order, or Credit Card is due on the day of the exam. Please note that credit/debit cards from smaller financial institutions such as Fairwinds are not an authorized form of payment by College Board/CLEP.
All transactions are non-refundable.Step 3 – Special Registration
If you are a student with a documented disability, YOU MUST submit written documentation from your current institution with your CLEP Registration Form and Disclaimer before you can schedule an appointment. Step 4 – Registration Submission

Identification Requirements:
YOU MUST bring two forms of personal identification on test day in order to be admitted to the testing room – primary and secondary.
Primary identification must be a government-issued photo bearing ID. The ID must include your name, signature, and a recognizable photograph. Acceptable forms of primary ID include:
- Current driver’s license
- State or federal ID card
- Current passport
- Military ID with photo and signature
- Tribal ID
- Naturalization card or certification of citizenship
Acceptable forms of secondary ID include:
- Employee photo ID
- College ID
- Credit card
- Social Security card
- Military ID with signature only
- Unused ID from the primary choices above
Rescheduling, Missed Appointments, Cancellations, and Refunds:
All tests must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of receipt of your payment. You are allowed one reschedule. If you fail to arrive at the test site, or arrive to be seated 15 minutes later than your scheduled test time, you will not receive a refund. To reschedule a test, you must call at least 24 hours before your appointment time. If you reschedule within 24 hours of your scheduled exam, you will forfeit your testing fee.
Re-test Policy:
A CLEP may not be retaken within a 6-month period. This waiting period provides the student with an opportunity to spend additional time preparing for the exam or the option of taking a classroom course.
Score Reports:
You will receive an unofficial score report immediately upon completion of your CLEP exam. However, the English Composition with Essay exam score report will be mailed usually 2-3 weeks after the test date. A score recipient (college, employer, or certifying agency) that is selected through the software on the day of the exam is sent one time free of charge. Additional CLEP transcripts can be obtained for a $20.00 fee by contacting College Board/CLEP directly.
If you designate UCF as the recipient of your official CLEP transcript, it will take approximately 7-10 business days from the date of request through College Board/CLEP for the University Testing Center to receive the transcript. It will take an additional 1-2 weeks for the score to be entered and updated.
