Grammar Proficiency Exam

The Grammar Proficiency Exam is a placement test for students seeking admission into the Radio/Television and Journalism majors within the Nicholson School of Communications at UCF. The test is a standardized national exam with two parts. Part one time limit of 15 minutes, tests student effectiveness in conveying exact meanings; part two time limit of 20 minutes, tests word usage, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. The exam has a total of 40 questions. A score of 75% (30 correct out of 40) is considering passing. You can only take this exam once. If you do not pass the exam, you must contact the Nicholson School of Communication for other options.

The exam is given every week by appointment only. The cost of the Grammar Proficiency Exam is $15.00. Registration and payment must be completed in order to schedule an appointment. Rescheduling, Missed Appointments, Cancellations and Refunds

All tests must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of receipt of your payment. You are allowed one reschedule. If you fail to arrive at the test site, or arrive to be seated 15 minutes later than your scheduled test time, you will not receive a refund. To reschedule a test, you must call at least 24 hours before your appointment time. If you reschedule within 24 hours of your scheduled exam, you will forfeit your testing fee. If you cancel or miss your appointment, you will not receive a refund.
